Armstrong Massey Rally Service Vehicle Instructions 2000
All service vehicles must follow the route described below, and may only provide assistance in the recognised Service Area at Breighton Airfield. The only vehicles which may provide assistance outside the Service Area are Management Cars. These vehicles, which must only be of car size, are required to display a management plate at all times and must follow the Management Car Instructions (supplied separately).
Please note that the Humberside Police have informed us that they will be monitoring the event - so watch your speed, particularly through built up areas!
Route from Armstrong Massey to the Service Area at Breighton Airfield.
- Leave the start area, turn left at the mini roundabout and then right on to the A64 towards York. Caution, take extreme care when making the turn. DO NOT TAKE RISKS!
- After 5 miles come off the A64 and turn right - signposted Selby A19.
- Staying on the A19 towards Selby, pass through the village of Escrick and then pass Riccall.
- After about another 1.5 miles, turn left - signposted Market Weighton A163.
- After 3 miles pass through North Duffield, still on the A163.
- After 1.7 miles, cross over the bridge and slowly pass through Bubwith village.
- At the far end of the village, just before the de-restricted signs, turn right at crossroads - signposted Howden B1228.
- After 0.9 miles, turn right - signposted Breighton Airfield. No more than 15mph from here.
- Follow the road down for 0.25 miles to the Service Area.
Route from Breighton Airfield to the finish at Brantingham Park.
- Leave the Service Area and and continue down to the road (15mph).
- At the road, turn right on to the B1228 towards Howden.
- Continue on the B1228 over the level crossing and into Howden.
- At the T junction, turn left - signposted Hull, Goole A63.
- Follow the road around to the left - signposted Hull A63.
- At the roundabout, go straight on (2nd exit) - signposted B1230 Beverley, Hull A63.
- Continue on this road for 7.5 miles through Gilberdyke and Newport.
- At the T junction, turn right - signposted Beverley B1230, Hull (A63). WARNING: DO NOT TURN LEFT AS THIS WILL PUT YOU ON THE M62 MOTORWAY!
- Cross the motorway bridge and immediately turn right on to the dual carriageway - signposted Hull A63.
- Pass two petrol stations and then take the first exit - signposted South Cave A1034.
- At the T junction, turn right - signposted Ellerker, Elloughton, Brough.
- Cross the dual carriageway again and follow the signs for Elloughton and Brough (The route will be arrowed). Take care crossing the west-bound A63 sliproad as vehicles approach at speed.
- At the cross-roads, continue straight on - ignoring the signs for Brantingham.
- After a further 0.7 miles, turn left - signposted Brantingham (opposite the trees on the right at the end of the straight).
- At the T junction, turn right - signposted Elloughton.
- After 0.4 miles, take the first entrance on the right into Brantingham Park - Home of Hull Ionians Rugby Club.
- Park as directed. If the car park is full, return to the road and park safely on the verge.
Competitor Due Times
Providing that the event is running on time, the following times represent the due times for Car 0 at the Service In/Out controls. To calculate the due time of your crew, add their number, in minutes, on to these times. The times are for guidance only and will be inaccurate if either the event or your crew are running behind schedule.
