Armstrong Massey Rally Stage Surface Information 2000

Elvington

The stage surface is predominantly concrete but the runway has a smoother tarmac finish. Fairly abrasive but our stages are always fast and flowing so there will be very few places where you need the hand-brake.

Melbourne

Melbourne has seen a lot of work over the last few years so very few pot-holes remain. We have designed the stage so that it only uses the smoothest parts of the venue and its really not bad at all. However, be warned, the exit from the stage is down a short but bumpy farm track.

Gunby

The stage is located on the Western end of Breighton Airfield, within walking distance of the Service Area. The stage surface is mainly broken tarmac but with a mixture of concrete and good quality tarmac thrown in as well. As the venue is partly a wood yard and partly a farm, the surface cleanliness ranges alters a lot. There could be quite a lot of standing water about if it rains.

Skillings

This stage is a combination of concrete and tarmac airfield runway and perimeter tracks. For the vast majority of the stage the surface is in excellent condition although the first section around the southern and eastern end of the airfield will be on an older and rougher concrete track. Again, some parts of the stage could accumulate standing water if it is wet.

Beacon

Gravel farm tracks with a short section of concrete. The track has a solid heavy soil base but with a fairly high gravel content.

Service Area

All servicing will take place at Breighton Airfield on solid concrete/tarmac. The Service Area is within walking distance of the Gunby stages.
