THE FABLE OF THE NON--CONFORMIST SPARROW

Once upon a time a non-conformist sparrow decided that he would not follow the crow and fly south for the winter.

As winter arrived and the weather turned cold, he regretted his action and set off flying south to warmer climes. On his way there, ice began to form on his wings. Eventually, he could no longer fly with the weight of the ice about his little body and fell to the ground in a farmyard.

As he lay there, miserable and frozen, a cow passed by narrowly missing him with her hooves and dropping a cow pat over our unfortunate little friend. The manure was quite warm and soon the little chap thawed out. As he warmed up he became cheerful and began to sing merrily.

The farmyard cat heard the happy song and came over to investigate. Seeing the sparrow entombed in a little pile of manure, he pulled him clear, meticulously cleaned him then ate him.

THIS FABLE GIVES US THREE MORALS

1. Everyone who sh..s on you is not necessarily your enemy.

2. Everyone who gets you out of the sh.. is not necessarily your friend.

3. If you're warm and happy in a pile of sh.. keep your mouth shut.
