It looks good now!

Three Sisters Sprint

Our lone Sprint competitor, Jon Meacock ventured out to a Kart circuit near Wigan for this event. On a hot humid day, interspersed with drizzle, 100 competitors gathered to have fun (a hundred! - are we missing something here?).

Jon’s Golf was amalgamated with another class which included a Nissan Skyline, an all-happening Beamer, Mitsubishi Evo 6 and a quick Alpha Romeo. Jon was happy to beat the Alpha at the end of the day. According to Jon the classes are a bit strange. Apparently the type of tyres on the car can change the class your in - weird!

Whilst dry in the morning, Jon reported that’s when most of the crashes took place on the one and three-quarter laps of the circuit. Seems everyone was trying very hard. A Mustang managed 4 or 5 spins, seems there was too much power (or too much right foot!). An Opel Manta in Jon’s class had a biggie, sustaining much damage during the crash.

Despite the drizzle in the afternoon Jon managed to keep the Golf on the island and had a thoroughly enjoyable day. Results seemed to slip Jon’s mind, but I think they were academic. It’s not the winning that counts, it’s the fun you have blatting the car round a tarmac circuit! Must get to one of these events sometime.

Howie.
