The Last Ditch Rally

A Retro Touring Assembly on Sunday 9 November 2025

Beverley & District Motor Club welcomes entrants for the Last Ditch Rally. Crews will complete a non-competitive touring route of approximately 106 miles, looking out for some of the trademark BDMC codeboards en route. The event will have two classes as follows:

Novice

Novice crews will be given a Roadbook to follow, together with a copy of the original 1-inch scale map from 1969, which will be marked with the route.

Expert

Crews who would like a challenge may attempt the original 12 Car navigation by entering as experts. Instructions will be issued based on those of the the original Last Ditch Rally, together with an unmarked original 1-inch scale map from 1969. They will also be issued with a set of “get out of jail” envelopes containing “cheat” route instructions.

Prizes will be awarded for Keenest Novice and Most Expert Expert crews.

As part of our 75th anniversary year, we are delighted to announce a very special Touring Assembly this autumn. We’ll be turning back the clock to recreate the original route of the Last Ditch Rally - a 12 Car Navigational Rally first run on Sunday 9 November 1969.

On Remembrance Sunday, 9 November 2025, we invite you to join us for this unique retro revival. Whether you bring a cherished Classic Car or a Modern Car of Significant Interest, this is your chance to step into the spirit of 1969 and enjoy an unforgettable day of motoring with us.

Crews are encouraged to dress in period and the following prizes will be awarded:

Best Period Recreation
