Local businesses back East Riding Stages Rally

We are delighted to announce that Beverley & District Motor Club's forthcoming closed road stage rally has attracted a number of local sponsors.

Stage 1 will be sponsored by Vauxhall dealers Evans Halshaw, based on Henry Boot Way near the A63 in Hull. They are one of Europe’s largest dealership networks, supplying the full range of Vauxhall cars and commercial vehicles.

“They were one of the first companies to back the rally, and are not only sponsoring one of the stages, they are also supporting the safety cars that precede the rally to ensure that the stages have been set up in accordance with Motorsport UK safety guidelines.

They also ensure that all the spectators are standing in safe and secure areas,” explained rally manager Richard Vincent.

Maple Garage have also pledged their support. The MG and Isuzu dealership has a long history of rallying with the club as the main sponsors of Beverley’s Beaver Road Rally, which has run for over 40 years. Phil Burton, the current dealer principal, has won that event on more than one occasion and Maple Garage will sponsor the second stage of the rally.

Greens the Signmakers have also been involved with rallying both competitively and through their business, as one of the country's leading signmakers. Lawrence Green, is the third generation managing director and was a regular competitor on Historic events in the early 2000’s with his Ford Escort Mk1.

They will be printing all the stage furniture onto recyclable products, helping with the event's green credentials and sponsoring the third stage.

Sponsors of the fourth stage are Sparrow Recovery, with over 40 years experience in the recovery industry. They operate from three depots with a fleet of 54 vehicles and they are able to cater for everything from heavy off road winching to bus and coach recovery.

Managing director James Sparrow has rallied himself for a number of years in the UK, Belgium and Holland, more recently with his ex works Subaru Impreza. James and his team will be on hand to support the road closure crews on the event.

The East Riding Stages will run on February 27th 2022 and offer 50 competitive miles over four special stages, run in two loops, making a total of eight stages.
