Beverley and District Motor Club will return to some of the best-loved road rally roads in the East Riding of Yorkshire and North Yorkshire on Sunday 31 May 2026, as the Summer Classic Tour offers crews a relaxed and enjoyable day behind the wheel.

This year's classic touring assembly will start and finish at Field House Coffee Barn near Tibthorpe, and welcomes all classic cars as well as modern cars of significant interest. It offers owners the perfect opportunity to bring out a special car to enjoy on a carefully planned route, as part of a friendly, sociable day out.
Crews can begin the day with coffee and hot sandwiches from 9.00am, giving everyone time to meet up, sign on and enjoy the atmosphere before the first cars leave at around 10.30am.
The route covers approximately 100 miles and heads across the Yorkshire Wolds through Huggate, Thixendale, Burdale and Sherburn, before continuing towards the forest areas west and north of Scarborough. A planned stop at the Morrisons and McDonald’s complex south of Scarborough will allow crews to refuel the cars and themselves before the return to Tibthorpe.
For anyone who knows these roads from road rallying, the Summer Classic Tour offers the chance to enjoy them in a very different way. Roads more often driven at night, with maps, clocks and concentration in full flow, will be enjoyed in daylight, with time to take in the scenery, the villages, the twists and climbs, and the character of the route across the Wolds and into North Yorkshire.

Organiser Ian Gibbins said: “Last year’s event was really well received and we’re looking forward to bringing the Summer Classic Tour back for 2026. We hope to welcome a good mix of crews and cars for what should be a really enjoyable day out.
“The simple tests along the route added a bit of friendly competition last year, so we’re planning to include that light-hearted element again for a bit of fun and bragging rights.”
Crews can choose between marked route maps or a traditional tulip road book with mileages, so the event works well for newcomers as well as more experienced crews and navigators. There are no timed road sections, just a well-planned route, good company and plenty to enjoy along the way.
Entries are now open via rallies.info and for more information you can visit the Classic Tour page on the Beverley and District Motor Club website.
Whether crews bring a cherished classic, an interesting modern car or simply want to enjoy a day out on memorable roads, the Summer Classic Tour promises a warm welcome, an enjoyable route and plenty of smiles.
