Andy’s Autos backs 2027 East Riding Stages Rally

The Andy's Autos East Riding Stages Rally will take place on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 February 2027.

Beverley & District Motor Club are delighted to welcome Andy’s Autos as title sponsor for the sixth East Riding Stages Rally.

Based at Hilltop Farm near Wawne, Andy’s Autos is run by motorsport enthusiast Andy Grewar, who has built the garage into a friendly, reliable and trustworthy local business, with a reputation for genuinely caring about its customers. Looking after cars, vans and motorcycles, the garage covers everything from routine servicing and repairs to more specialist work.

But cars are much more than a business for Andy. He is a genuine motorsport enthusiast who loves the cars, the atmosphere, the noise and the excitement that go with the sport.

Taking on the title sponsorship gives him the opportunity not only to promote a business he is proud of, but to get more closely involved with the motorsport community he is already part of, support a major event on his doorstep and give something back to the wider community around it.

Andy said: “We wanted to support a great local event, but we also saw an opportunity to put the Andy’s Autos name in front of a much bigger audience and introduce the business to people who might not know us.”

For Andy, becoming title sponsor is an exciting step into a new side of the sport he enjoys. Rather than simply watching the rally from the outside, he and Andy’s Autos will now be part of the event itself, backing the team that puts it together and helping bring another weekend of top-class rallying to the East Riding.

Andy genuinely loves motorsport, he cares about his customers and the community around his business, and he wants to be part of what we are doing.

“Title sponsorship is a significant commitment and we are enormously grateful that Andy has chosen to make that commitment to the East Riding Stages. We’re really looking forward to welcoming him into the rally family and working together to make 2027 another very special event.”

Since its debut in 2022, the rally has earned a reputation for fast, challenging stages and the warm welcome provided by Beverley & District Motor Club and the East Riding community, and there is plenty for Andy, competitors and spectators alike to look forward to in February.

Building on last year’s route, the 2027 rally begins on Saturday evening, when competitors will be flagged away from the ceremonial start at Beverley’s historic North Bar Within. The opening leg features the iconic Westwood stage, run twice, alongside a revised Wold stage with new spectator access.

All three stages will run in the dark, bringing one of the most spectacular elements of last year’s event back for 2027. Expect glowing brake discs, fiery exhausts, banks of headlights and the unmistakable sound of rally cars cutting through a February night.

On Sunday morning, the action restarts in the heart of Beverley, with the Saturday Market FanZone providing the backdrop as crews head out into the East Riding once more. The route includes Seaton, Rise, Ellerby and Swine, followed by a return to the Westwood, before the same stages are repeated to complete the loop.

In total, competitors will face 15 special stages and more than 74 competitive stage miles across the weekend, before returning to the FanZone for the ceremonial finish and trophy presentation, bringing crews and spectators back together in Beverley for the final celebrations.

The 2027 date is slightly earlier than usual, following an agreed date swap with the Riponian Stages Rally, which will take place on Sunday 28 February.

Beverley & District Motor Club and Ripon Motor Sport Club have worked closely together to agree the change. The two Yorkshire rallies are supported by many of the same marshals, officials and volunteers, and both organising teams recognise just how fortunate they are to have such an experienced and committed community behind their events. Working together on the 2027 calendar means those people have the opportunity to be part of both rallies, while two of Yorkshire’s leading motorsport events retain the valuable separation between their dates.

The change was prompted by an unusually early Easter in 2027, which moves the February half-term holiday a week earlier. With Bishop Burton College providing the East Riding Stages Rally Service Area, the event needed to move accordingly. Rather than allow that to put the two events too close together, the clubs worked together and agreed to effectively swap their usual weekends.

East Riding Stages Rally Clerk of the Course Matthew Atkinson said: “We have a fantastic community of marshals, officials and volunteers in Yorkshire and many of them support both events, something for which we’re enormously grateful. Once we knew we needed to move our date, working with the Riponian team made complete sense.

“There’s a great relationship between the two rallies and we all want to do what is best for the events, for the people who make them happen and for rallying in Yorkshire.”

For Beverley & District Motor Club, the new title partnership, the return of the Saturday night stages and another packed weekend of competition mark an exciting start to the build-up to February.
